ROUND 6 OF SHIELD COMPETITION ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10
Round 6 of shield competition will be held at Nunawading on Thursday night, December 10.

Halfway through the 10 rounds of shield competition, our women’s teams (open Division 1, U16, U18, 40+) are all on top of the ladder. Our men’s teams however are sitting 1st (40+), 2nd (U16), and 3rd (Open division 1 and U18). Only the top two teams in each division qualify for the finals, so we will need to try to fill all events in round 6 and again in round 7 (Dec 19), so that we are in a strong position going into the Christmas break.

MILERS CLUB AT BOX HILL TOMORROW EVENING
Please be aware that a Miler’s Club and Rare Air Club meet will take place at Box Hill on Tuesday, December1. Training must be completed before the start of this event at 7:00pm.

RESULTS FROM ROUND 5 OF SHIELD COMPETITION AT DONCASTER
Box Hill again had some good results with our men’s teams scoring two firsts (men 40+ and men U16) and two second placings (men division 1 and men U18). Unfortunately our division 1 men finished second again and after re-scoring of round 4 (where we dropped from 1st to 2nd and St, Kevin’s from 3rd to 1st), we are now in a precarious position on the ladder and we will need strong teams over the next two rounds before Christmas to make sure that we qualify for the finals.

All our women’s teams won and are all sitting on top of their respective ladders.

2015-2016 Shield Competition Round 5 – Doncaster – 22 November 2015

November 22, 2015

ROUND 4 OF SHIELD COMPETITION AT NUNAWADING ON THIS SATURDAY
Round 4 of shield competition will be held at Nunawading on this Saturday, November 14.
The program starts at 1:30pm (1:00pm for the hammer throw). The order of events will be, walk, hurdles, 200m, 800m, 4x400m relay, 5000m (3000m for U18/U16). The field events will be hammer throw, shot put, high jump, triple jump.
See the attached timetable.
This is the same program that will be used for the shield finals (except all divisions run the 3000m in the finals instead of 5000m), so this is an opportunity to do several events and be qualified for the finals.

ROUND 4 OF SHIELD COMPETITION AT NUNAWADING ON SATURDAY WEEK

Round 4 of shield competition will be held at Nunawading on Saturday week, November 14.

There are still a number of registered athletes who have not competed in the first three rounds. Remember that you must compete in at least 3 rounds of Shield Competition in order to be eligible to compete for the Club in the finals. We also need more athletes taking part to make sure that all our teams make it to the finals!

THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS

A big thank you to all those who have helped as volunteer officials over the first 3 rounds of shield competition. Box Hill has helped run the pole vault in round 1, the triple jump in round 2 and the discus in round 3. If we get enough volunteers, then each person will only have to help out once throughout the season.

ALL SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Good luck to all the Box Hill athletes who are competing in the Victorian All Schools Championships this weekend. Hopefully Box Hill competitors can win a swag of medals!

Our Division 1 men’s team defeated Nunawading for the first time this season, but went down to St. Kevins. We sit precariously in second place on the ladder.
Although we dominated the 1500m and pole vault and scored well in the 100m and 400m, we had only one athlete (with up to 3 athletes scoring) in the hurdles, javelin and long jump – and it was David Thomson each time! We also had only one walker and no participants in the steeplechase. Hopefully we can fill our quota of athletes in the field events in round 4 (high jump, triple jump, hammer throw and shot put)
