A great night of racing was promised, and Box Hill Athletic Club delivered! National qualifiers were achieved, PBs were slashed and the record 410 athletes gave spectators an exciting night of tightly contested races.
Harry Summers has been selected to represent Australia in the World Cross Country Championships to be held in Denmark on March 30. This is a great reward for all the work Harry has put in to get back into his best form. Congratulations to Harry and to his coach, Steve Dinneen.
The penultimate round of AV Shield competition was held in blistering conditions, with temperatures soaring to 36 degrees at Knox and Werribee. With just one round before the finals, Box Hill teams are sitting clearly in the top two in the Men’s Open Division 1, Men’s Over 40 and Men’s Under 16 divisions and in the Women’s Open Division 1 and the Women’s Under 16 division.
Shield competition made a welcome return to Box Hill in Round 10, with the other events held at Doncaster. There are just two rounds before the finals. Box Hill teams are sitting clearly in the top two in the Men’s Open Division 1, Men’s Over 40 and Men’s U16 divisions and in the Women’s Open Division 1 and the Women’s U16 division.
The highly successful Box Hill Classic is back! As we move toward the pointy end of the track season, the Box Hill Classic on Thursday 7 February is a great opportunity to trim your PB or try for a national qualifying time.
AV Shield competition kicked off for 2019 at Werribee and Glenhuntly, with athletes battling windy conditions at both venues.
