Box Hill Athletic Club is holding a comedy fundraising evening on Friday, 20 October. Doors open at 7pm for pizza and drinks, and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets are available online – bring friends and family to support the club!
Box Hill has won three XCR’17 premierships, coming out on top in the men’s premier Division, the men’s Division 4 and the men’s over 50 competitions. Box Hill finished the XCR’17 season on a high note with some great performances at the final event of the season, the Princes Park Relays.
After a tremendous eight rounds of XCR competition by our men’s team, things were not looking great for round 9, with a number of our best runners ill, injured or unavailable for the half marathon at Burnley on 10 September. But some exceptional individual efforts ensured a strong team performance.
Tom Sellwood and Will Potter raced superbly in the Australian Cross Country Championships on August 26, leading a successful Box Hill contingent.
Kathryn Brooks and Georgia Griffith both performed with distinction in the World University Games (Summer Universiade) in Taiwan last month.
Numbers were down for the Athletics Victoria Ekiden Relay held at Anglesea on Saturday, but there were still some good performances by Box Hill runners.
Congratulations to Box Hill’s Nicola Hogg, who won a silver medal in the Australian All Schools Cross Country Championships in Hobart on August 12.
