XCR’15 ROUND 9 – BURNLEY HALF MARATHON ON THIS SUNDAY

The next round of the XCR’15 season will be the half-marathon along the Burnley Boulevard on this Sunday, September 6, starting at 8:00am. There will be no junior events on this day, but junior athletes may enter the open event (entries close at noon on Wednesday, even juniors with a season’s entry must enter separately for this event). Our men’s premier division team is 7 points clear on top of the ladder, but must still put in a strong showing in the two remaining events (the half marathon and the Tan relays) to make sure that we secure our third successive XCR premiership. With many of our top runners unavailable for this event we need all available runners taking part to make sure our premier division team stay on top of the ladder. Our men’s over 50 team is nine points clear on top of the ladder and a good performance in the half marathon will clinch the title in this division.

The Athletics year starts on April 1, so those who have registered this winter are covered for the summer season also, but all others must register before the start of the season in order to be eligible to compete.

TAN RELAYS

The XCR’15 season culminates with the Tan Relays on Saturday morning, September 19. We are hoping to enter teams in all age groups and divisions. This is a great event to finish the winter season and a great way to prepare for the summer track season. Please let us know if you are available for this event.
