The next round of shield competition will be held on the resurfaced Nunawading track (Bill Sewart Athletics Track, East Burwood) on this Saturday, January 19. This will be the second last round before the finals. The program will be the same program as the Shield Finals (to be held on February 16) so this is the last opportunity to qualify for events in the shield finals. The track program starts at 1:30pm with the hurdles and steeplechase, followed by the 100m, walk, 1500m, 4x100m relay and the 400m.The field events start with the pole vault at 12:45pm and the Javelin, discus and long jump all starting at 1:00pm. HAVE YOU COMPETED IN 4 ROUNDS OF SHIELD COMPETITION THIS SEASON?
To be eligible to compete in the finals you must have competed in at least 4 rounds of competition and you must have competed in that particular event at least once throughout the season. Our open men, open women, Over 40 men and Under 16 women appear certain to make the finals (with our under 16 men still a slight outside chance). There are only 2 rounds remaining before the finals, so please make every effort to make yourself eligible for the finals in as many events as possible (especially the walk, steeplechase and hurdles!).
